The Chase: Animated Short by Philippe Gamer

“The Chase” is an incredible short movie by Philippe Gamer, a director/animator from Paris, France.

According to the director, the animated short is “a story about the art of aging…”

…I hope I’m like this when I age ;w;

Aging Gracefully done right.

Saw this and thought “ok. Michael Bay does Charlie’s Angels. Whatever.” then saw the whole clip. “This. Is. Awsome!”

My new ringtone.

It is called “The Dragon”; a vein of gold found in this natural state. As far as I know, it hasn’t been altered at all. (Holy crap, right?)

More pieces from HMNS. These are from a different exhibit. Apparently this guy is a master carver that works with semi-precious stones. The humming bird is just a crack in the stone he found and worked around. There was also a chair he carved from agate but I didn’t take a picture. Stupid of me. Maybe next time.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Here’s a video for one of the pieces. I was attempting a old school documentary feel. I know the glass case is distracting, but look how it sparkles!

Lovely pieces from the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) vaults. I almost wish I was a successful cat burglar. (jk)
